Instructions:

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  2. Add pork shoulder pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until onions are translucent.
  4. Stir in ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, orange juice, and lime juice. Bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2-3 hours until pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  7. Remove pork from the skillet and shred using two forks.
  8. Serve carnitas on warmed tortillas with toppings like chopped cilantro, diced onions, salsa, avocado, and lime wedges.
